Tod, I was at my dealer today and Harley has a deal that (And it is until 4-2010) they are giving 500 over the trade in value of your motorcycle, but it has to be a Non-Harley bike that you are trading in.
Sounds to me the time is right to get that Dyna............

The way Harley is hurting for sales, I bet they will give away the farm to get you on a bike.
Good for you, sure beats the 4K over MSRP of ten years back.

All kidding aside (And I hope you know I was only kidding you about your bike, it really does look great) The first thing to do is find out just what is wrong. When a clutch is going out, the engine under load will freewheel (The RPM's will rev up) but the bike will no speed up. Going up a hill or trying to pass it will rev but not speed up.
You are saying the engine "Lugs down" and that don't sound like a clutch, more like a misfire.
Either way, finding out what it needs, how much to fix it and all may help you decide if it is best to trade and get a new bike that has a warranty or not.

I don't think a Super glide falls into the grampa bike category, many guys in the 20's and 30's ride this bike.

first off i wasnt calling harleys a grandpas bike i was saying when i go to get "MY grandpas bike" its a shovelhead she will not let me spend the money needed to get it going if im trying to make the payments on a harley right now.
Now about my clutch the motor doesnt lug down you can just hear that its not completly catching meaning its like half and half. like if i pull in the clutch and rev it revs up fast put when its slipping you can hear that its not fully failing. understand what i mean.

Ok, I misread my bad.
Shovel are cool, but being an antique as they are, they can be a 1/4 fix 3/4 ride bike.
I use one, even a EVO powered one is a more reliable one.
Hang on a minute, be right back.

Okay, look on e-bay there is a California bike a 2006 35th ann superglide with no reserve under 3K right now...

That one would be cool.
