I have an 05 LSC and recently the tank and handlebars have been vibrating more than normal. I've done a little hunting around the tank and didn't know if there was a bolt somewhere to snug it down or not. Ive also notice that the black washer (??) at the base of the risers is pretty much deteriorated.. is that something you just swap out or is there a little more to it! Im looking to ride this thing down to florida in the next couple of weeks and didnt want stuff falling off, especially the tank...!

So... just for kicks, I thought that I would answer my own question.. there are 4 bolts that you need to remove and just replace the tank bushings. They are the standard ones used on all softails and cost just about 2 bucks a piece, and amazingly the tank and handlebars no longer rattle at all. Its great. My bike has about 14,000 miles on it and all the tank mounts were shot.
also if you have issues of the tail lights always burning out, autozone has some standard LCD plug in type lights for about 20 bucks and so far they have worked great.

Good Job, shad. I think around here you have to answer your own questions because most BT owners don't work on their bikes much less know anything about them.

Hey now! I do my own service! :D
I missed the original post or I would have replied, when I replaced that same part on my old FXR I used an aftermarket part made out of high tech plastic that lasts longer and reduces handlebar movement .
