A friend bought a 07 Screaming Eagle Softail Springer with the 110 cu. in. engine, about 4 months ago, and has had nothing but problems with it since he got it. Gas guage quit, tach qiut, Couple other things too. The dealer worked on them and got them fixed for the most part. The big problem is that the engine dies while he is riding and dam near got him hit by a cage on one occasion. He pulls over when it dies and after a few minutes it will fire right back up. Doesn't do this on any regular basis. but has enough times that he has already got a lawyer and is filing a " lemon law claim " as the dealer can't seem to find the problem because it never happens when they have it in to check it out. Had them come and pick it up off the side of the road the last time. He wouldn't start it , but it started for them when they came to get it.
My question is-- Has anyone else had a problem with this engine quiting like this ? Seems like I have run across a post somewhere concerning this but after looking I can't find it. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

I'd double-check that the battery cables are on tight.

Or it sounds like it might be a heat related thing and as it cools down a bit it starts again. Maybe some sort of sensor? I bet that narrows it down a bit.

Yeah it souinds like something is getting hot, if it was a sensor the computer should record the error. I wonder if it is the coil, they do that sometimes.
