View Full Version : HD Tire Warranty
rshute4 20th June 2007, 04:03 OK i bought the HD tire warranty... on my way home i ran over something, when i looked at my tire theres a huge chunk and a bunch of little ones missing... large enough to stick my index finger into. Is it covered? i have to go to the dealer in Thursday anyways and they have been pretty good to me so far...
Anyone have any experience with HD's tire warranty?
I read the terms, and it stated damage due to road debris... was covered but there wasn't "tire failure" involved but I'm guessing it could lead to it?

This qualifies as damage to me, it doesn't seem it's safe to ride on. THey should set you up. But they are probably scumbags, so bring your football bat with you so you can straighten them out. :smoke
rshute4 20th June 2007, 21:44 Just got off the phone, with the service dept. they said it was covered so tomorrow ill be leaving with new rubber and a radio. :thumbup2
alexcue 20th June 2007, 23:11 your lucky.... mine developed a bubble on the sidewall, HD warranty wouldn't cover it, but had to go thru Dunlops warranty... still haven't heard back and am out $250 for now.
rshute4 20th June 2007, 23:29 hopefully they wont screw with me... i still have another month to cancel the warranty, if they wont honor it ill call right then and there... and use the money to buy an aftermarket one.
But I'm going to stay positive about it.

rshute4 22nd June 2007, 03:05 Well everything turned out OK, my Cd's eject now... and i got new rubber on the front. the service guy was a bit wishy washy at first then i pulled out the "flyer" thing i pulled of the sales desk and reminded him about "whats warrantied" then the service lady i had worked with came out, and apologized with a "every things taken care of... no worries"
So gotta give Chester's some more points!
Sounds like you have one of the better dealers out there.:thumbup
rshute4 22nd June 2007, 23:58 i sure hope they keep it up... ive been let down before
rshute4 27th June 2007, 06:24 I HAVE THE WORST LUCK WITH MOTORCYCLE TIRES!!!!!
first i had huge gouges in the front... NOW i have a huge GASH or SPLIT on the rear tire! funny thing is when i got the front replaced, i asked them "since its on the lift can you check the rear for any problems" they replied with "ohh you got 4/30ths left and it looks good!" I'm gonna call BULLSHIT on that one!
I just HAD to check the rear when i got home, been a little squirmy back there for a few days... sure as POO big gash running with the tread!
UGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGH! can you tell I'm frustrated!? so time for a new tire... thank GOD for that warranty!
rshute4 27th June 2007, 19:31 OK this morning i went to the dealer close to my house, they said no problem bring it in. So the service guy was actually COOL about getting me in, telling me no problem its under warranty well get you out in about an hour and a half... so I'm in motor cloths taking up the hot chick behind the counter, when he comes to get me... and tells me HD is sending out a rep to inspect the tire! seeing as how i had one tire replaced under warranty last week...
Even the service guy was pissed... they already had the tire off! but according to him it will fall under "warranty work" so ill hopefully be able to pick up my bike tomorrow after work.

How dare that service guy bother you with such mundane stuff about tires while your ogling the hot chick behind the counter!!!:fight
They should replace it under warranty regardless of whether or not you just had one replaced. Hell, when they replaced the front, they should have really looked at the rear to make sure it was all right too. Not just look at the thread depth and say it's good to go.
rshute4 29th June 2007, 05:41 OK so the Harley adjuster came out and approved the warranty!!!!! whoooohoooo! so now Ive got a whole new set of rubber! i was able to pick it up after work, and make it to bike night with my buddies! good times!
Now I'm all set for riding this next week since its my vacation!
